Utrecht University Law School  Summer Schools on International Law.

 This summer, Utrecht University Law School offers three Summer School courses on international law. Everyone is welcome to register for these Summer Schools. The Public International Law course will look at the role of international law in responding to today’s global challenges. In the Law of the Sea course, an introduction is provided to the law that regulates the oceans. And in the Law and Sustainability course, students will learn how issues of sustainability are dealt with in the legal order at the international, national and EU levels. University of Groningen Summer School on Health and Human Rights.

This Summer School, organized by the Global Health Law Groningen Research Centre,  is entitled ‘Health and Human Rights: The role of law in addressing the chronic disease pandemic’ and it will be held at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands  from 8 – 12 July 2019. The summer school is open to participants with both a law and medical background from the bachelor level to practitioners. The school will be taught by a multidisciplinary group of academics and practitioners and will focus on how international law and specifically human rights law is essential to addressing the global increase in non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including cardiovascular diseases, cancers, chronic respiratory diseases, and diabetes. The course will have a specific focus on unhealthy diets and the obesity epidemic and tobacco as NCD behavioral risk factors. The deadline for applications is 1 May 2019. 20th Summer School on the International Criminal Court.

The 20th Summer School on the International Criminal Court takes place from 24 – 28 June 2019 at the Irish Centre for Human Rights at the National University of Ireland Galway. This is the premier summer school specialising on the International Criminal Court, in which delegates participate in a series of intensive lectures by leading academics and professionals working at the Court. The organisers are pleased to announce that a number of scholarships are available, covering both the registration fee and accommodation. The closing date for scholarship applications is 1 March 2019. Details on how to apply are available here.  Registration for the ICC Summer School will open in late February with an early bird registration fee of €400 is available for delegates who register before 1 April 2019. The closing date for registrations is 1 June 2019.

Work On! Tilburg University Summer School

 Tilburg University, located in The Netherlands, is offering a two-week summer school course from the 8th – 19th of July, focusing on conflict-related sexual violence and human trafficking. Participants of the course will delve into the opportunities and challenges in addressing those two areas. The course will be taught by experts Dr. Anne-Marie de Brouwer and Dr. Eefje de Volder from IMPACT: Center Against Human Trafficking and Sexual Violence in Conflict. There is a 10% early bird discount (deadline March 31st) and the deadline for course registration is May 31st.

The Centre of Excellence for International Courts (iCourts) at the University of Copenhagen invites interest participants to register for its high-level PhD Summer School Program in collaboration with PluriCourts (the Centre for the Study of the Legitimate Roles of the Judiciary in the Global Order) of the University of Oslo. iCourts welcomes students working on international courts in their social and political context.
